Police arrested a Georgia substitute teacher for sex-crime offenses on Friday after she allegedly invited two male students to her suburban home for sex.

According to WSB-TV, prosecutors charged 38-year-old Laura Rich with several counts of sexual assault by a teacher stemming from her illicit relationships with the two students.

Records indicate Rich worked as a substitute teacher at the Ace Academy in Canton from January 2015 to August 2016.

Investigators said on multiple occasions, Rich invited both victims, an 18-year-old and 16-year-old last year to her home in Acworth, Georgia for sexual intercourse.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jay Baker said that although both victims were of legal age of consent at the time of the assaults, it did not matter in the context because of her position as an educator deemed her actions a criminal act.

“It’s the relationship she had as teacher-student that made it a crime,” Davis said.

“My understanding, the relationship with the 16-year-old victim, lasted a couple of months,” Baker said. “The 18-year-old, which happened later in the year was not as long of a relationship.”

Hours after her arrest, Rich secured her release by posting a $22,400 bond.

Officials with the Cherokee County School District severed all ties with Rich in a released statement.

“Our School District has zero tolerance for inappropriate relationships between students and any adults serving in any capacity in our school,” school officials said in the statement.
