Alicia Machado, the winner of the 1996 Miss Universe beauty pageant, has recently made headlines after Democratic nominee for President Hillary Clinton referred to her during the first presidential debate as an example of how Donald Trump has mistreated women in the past.

However, turns out that the former beauty queen has a drama and trouble-filled past, which came to light in recent days after the Hillary Clinton campaign gave Alicia Machado an additional 15 minutes of fame.

Machado, who recently became a U.S. citizen, told reporters Tuesday in a conference call set up by the Clinton campaign that her encounter with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump could “open eyes” in the upcoming election.

After Monday’s heated debate between the two presidential contenders, Alicia Machado tweeted her gratitude to Clinton, writing in Spanish: “Thanks, Mrs. Hillary Clinton. Your respect for women and our differences makes you great. I’m with you.”

The former Miss Universe appeared at a press conference in Virginia back in June organized by immigrant advocacy groups to urge Latino voters to vote for Clinton.

Machado claims that when she gained weight after receiving her title in 1996, Trump, who managed the pageant, referred to her as “Miss Piggy.”

When asked about the event during an interview with “Fox & Friends,” Trump said that the woman was “the worst we ever had,” noting that, “She gained a massive amount of weight. It was a real problem.”

Following the debate, Clinton’s campaign seized on the opportunity, immediately publishing a web video describing Machado’s story, depicting her as an embarrassed pageant winner whom Trump called “fat” or “ugly” and was blindsided by reporters who he invited to watch her work out.

However, Machado’s troubled past has also made the headlines.

According to the Daily Mail, shortly after she won her title in the late 1990s, a judge in Venezuela accused the woman of threatening to kill him after he charged her then-boyfriend for attempted murder.

At the time, Judge Maximiliano Fuenmayor said that the woman threatened “to ruin my career as a judge and … kill me.”

Juan Rafael Rodriguez Regetti, her ex-boyfriend, allegedly shot and wounded his sister’s husband, who he accused of being the reason behind his sister’s suicide.

Rodriguez allegedly shot and injured Francisco Antonio Sbert Mousko outside of a church in Caracas where his wife, Rodriguez’s sister, was being eulogized.

The victim reportedly suffered brain damage from the incident.

Sbert Mesko’s relatives blamed Machado for driving her boyfriend’s getaway car, but she rejected having any connection to the incident and was never indicted due to a shortage of evidence.

Additionally, the drama-filled past of Alicia Machado also included having her wedding engagement to former Philadelphia Phillie’s right fielder Bobby Abreu broken off after clips of her having a sexual romp, beneath the sheets with a co-star in a Spanish reality TV show surfaced online.

During a 2005 episode of the reality TV show ‘La Granja,’ Machado and Spanish TV host Fernando Acaso had sex in front of the cameras despite her engagement with Abreu at the time.

As JammedUp News reported, Machado also had a child with notorious Mexican drug lord Jose Gerardo “El Indio” Alvarez, alias “El Indio,” or “The Indian,” a top capo of the Beltran Leyva Drug Cartel.

Although the former Beauty Queen denied the allegations, multiple Mexican new outlets reported Machado had an affair with the now-incarcerated capo who is believed to have fathered Machado’s daughter.

Reports indicate a police informant who first revealed Machado’s relationship Alvarez was executed months later in broad daylight at a Mexico City cafe.

Federal law enforcement officials in the U.S. have placed a $2 million reward for the arrest of “The Indian” after the DEA identified Alvarez as a leading cartel figure responsible for the importing of multi-ton quantities of narcotics from South America and Mexico into the United States.

Rumors of Machado’s love affair with the ruthless drug lord surfaces after Mexican authorities arrested Alvarez in 2010, following a shootout in the municipality of Huixquilucan, located in the state of Mexico.

According to the Mexican newspaper Reforma, many leading figures within the Beltran-Leyva Cartel, including top bosses Arturo and Hector Beltran-Leyva, along with Texas-born drug lord Edgar Valdez Villarreal, also known as “La Barbie” even attended their daughter’s baptism.

Machado has repeatedly denied she ever had a relationship with Alvarez and claimed her daughter’s father was actually ‘a very respectable businessman’ named Rafael Hernandez Linares.’
