Legendary fashion figure and creative director for Chanel Karl Lagerfeld openly criticized Kim Kardashian for boasting about her wealth, just one day after the reality star was robbed of $11 million worth of jewelry at gunpoint in Paris.

After the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld told reporters: “You cannot display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you.”

Lagerfeld had signed a note to Kardashian on Monday that read: “Dearest Kim, we are all with you,” after the scary incident where she was bound and robbed at a luxurious apartment in Paris.

However, he still criticized the celebrity for showing off her expensive jewelry to her over 100 million followers on social media, the Daily Mail reported.

Kardashian posted a photo on Twitter last week of a diamond ring that is worth an estimated £3.5million, which authorities reported had been taken in the early morning ambush.

“I think it’s a very bad thing for Paris, but I don’t understand why she was in a hotel with no security… We make all of these efforts to make Paris appealing, and then this happens. Apparently, they were people from Eastern Europe.”

The ridiculously wealthy mom of two and wife of infamous rap superstar Kanye West had visited in Paris for fashion week, where she was a front row attendee at the Givenchy and Balenciaga shows on Sunday.

The candid 83-year-old German designer and photographer, who is known as “the Kaiser” for his expertise and influence in the fashion world, has previously gushed about the Kardashian clan.

Kim and Lagerfeld evidently formed a unique friendship despite the fact she was practically banned from the industry’s biggest fashion shows.

The pair became such fast friends that she convinced him to appear as a cartoon in her video game.

Karl Lagerfeld also directed a photo shoot with her a few months ago for Harper’s Bazaar in which he had Kanye West taking a picture with his phone of Kardashian lounging across a bed.

Kardashian’s half-sister Kendall Jenner also modeled for him in Chanel’s couture show in 2015.

Lagerfeld is no stranger to controversial remarks, referring to singer Adele as “a little too fat,” and saying that he “didn’t like Pippa Middleton’s face” after praising her sister the Duchess of Cambridge’s attractiveness.

Meanwhile, Usher, who arrived in Paris hours after the incident, said he is defiant in the face of the offense.

“I feel more secure than ever, absolutely (safe),” the singer noted, further adding that he has been a guest in the No Address Hotel where the event occurred and believed it to be a safe place.

The No Address Hotel, also known as the L’Hotel de Pourtales, has been a favorite among A-list celebrities, with guests including Prince, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Madonna.

“(Gun crime) like that happens all the time,” Usher continued. “In America, people get robbed everywhere, man. Unfortunately, it does maybe take a celebrity to shine a light on unfortunate situations.”
