A new petition is requesting the hanging death of Benjamin Taylor, the West Virginia man who accused of raping and fatally beating his girlfriend’s 10-month-old infant.

As JammedUp reported,  Benjamin Taylor is facing life behind bars on charges of sexual assault and murder in connection with the brutal rape and killing of 10-month-old Emmaleigh Barringer.

Although West Virginia eliminated the death penalty over 50 years ago, thousands of citizens are asking the government to make an exemption for the crazy man.

“Prison is too good for child rapists and their ilk,” the petition read on We The People, which will lead to an official reply from the Obama Administration if it gets 100,000 signatures within the next 30 days.

Amanda Leigh Adkins, the baby girl’s mother and has four children, allegedly woke up around 5 am Monday and found her daughter naked and bleeding on the floor in her basement.

The little girl suffered substantial bleeding, which is indicative of a harsh sexual assault, the criminal complaint states. She also exhibited symptoms of having been shaken and hit in the face.

The infant was pronounced brain dead at the hospital. Adkins held her daughter as she took her last breath on Wednesday.

The petition, which accumulated nearly 32,000 signatures as of Friday, urges the White House to order Congress take action against Taylor

“When it’s an open and shut case such as this, let us hang these creatures publicly,” wrote J.R., who launched the petition on Wednesday.

J.R. added: “Let us make examples of them, and allow the American people to attend these hangings so that the accused may be ridiculed, as they should be.”

Emmaleigh’s heartbroken family said that Benjamin Taylor appeared to be a “Prince Charming.”

“She was so lit up inside; he wanted to do things with her, he hung out with the kids,” said Danielle Adkins, Amanda’s cousin.

Friends and family held a candlelight vigil in honor of the infant on Friday as they arrange her funeral for this weekend.

Next-door-neighbors have posted photos of Emmaleigh on their front steps with candles and letters of support for her mother.

“She’s never going to go home with her brothers and sister again. She’s never going to be in a family event. We’re never going to know what her kids would look like or get to see her graduate high school — any of these normal life things because of this monster,” Danielle Adkins said in an interview with WSAZ.

Law enforcement officials revealed that when they arrived at the house, they discovered Taylor attempting to “wipe something” off his groin region, which authorities later concluded to be the baby’s blood.

Police officers reported that Taylor initially told them he had no idea how the child was injured but then claimed he “blacked out” as he did laundry with the baby.

“I’ve not encountered anything of this nature as long as I’ve been here,” said Tony Boggs, Jackson County Sheriff.

Emmaleigh later passed away in the ICU of Charleston Area Medical Center.

Three other kids were in the home at the time, police reported.

Rick Grunes, who seems to be Emmaleigh’s grandfather, posted a Go Fund Me link on Thursday and wrote: “We regret to say that the injuries sustained from the attack on our child, Emmaleigh Elizabeth Barringer, have resulted in her death.”

“First, we would like to thank the Jackson County police for their thorough investigation. We believe that it points directly to Benjamin Taylor as the person responsible for this heinous act.”

The post continued: “We would like to assure anyone with any doubt that this crime against an innocent child was solely perpetrated by a monster who had disguised himself as a caring and supporting friend.”

The Charleston Gazette-Mail reported that Danielle Adkins revealed that Amanda had to sign the documents to take her daughter off life support.

Danielle stated: “Amanda’s concern was that there was going to be some miraculous event and that [she] is going to open her eyes. I just think reality just hasn’t hit her yet.”

She also indicated that Benjamin Taylor had been dating Amanda for a brief time and that most of the family had not yet met him.

Amanda first met her boyfriend when she moved to West Virginia from Maryland with her four children this past summer.

In a Facebook picture posted on August 25th, Amanda Leigh Adkins is seen kissing Taylor, and he wrote a caption that read: “I’m so happy I met this girl!”

Relatives posted tragic pictures of the infant online. A GoFundMe page to help with funeral and medical expenses has raised almost $27,000 as of Friday morning.

WSAZ reported that Taylor’s Facebook once had a banner photo that said, “I will never apologize for being a sex freak.”

Taylor remains without bond in custody at South Central Regional Jail.
