An ex-Mexican police officer who was charged with the sexual assault of a mother and is accused of going back to the same apartment complex less than a month later to try to rape another woman.

Ricardo Corral Venegas, 25, is charged with kidnapping and sexual assault for his role in the attacks of two victims in an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, where the man told authorities he also lives.

On Thursday, an 18-year-old female told police that Venegas knocked on her door, asked for water, and inquired about whether or not her parents or her boyfriend were home. He then reportedly attempted to push his way inside, but she fought him off and contacted 911.

Authorities discovered Venegas inside of a restaurant nearby, and he was taken into custody. Law enforcement officials revealed that he was found with a bag full of plastic zip ties. They also recovered clothes and a long butcher knife flung behind a nearby bank, Fox31 Denver reported.

The suspect also asked his first victim on October 4th for a glass of water, and if “her man” was home, then lunged through the door.

That time, he was able to get inside and raped the 26-year-old woman while her one-year-old son was in the home and she begged him to stop. He then allegedly directed her to wash herself.

According to the police documents, the suspect then informed her that if she called authorities, he would kill both her and her son and that he had people following her.

Both women identified the crazed man as their attacker.

Investigators learned that Venegas was a police officer in Mexico for four years, where he had been involved in a series of incidents involving the sexual assault of several women and was referred to as the “motorist rapist,” because he would ride a motorbike and pretended to be a courier before attacking his victims.

The suspect rejected the claims that he attacked women in Mexico, despite the press there being full of his alleged crimes, saying that he was “raping women in businesses and homes for more than six months,” one news report indicated. It is not clear if he has been charged with those crimes.

Venegas told officers that he had been living in Colorado for three months, and also told them that he quit the police force after four years because he has a “dual personality.”

The Denver Post reported the Ex-Mexican Police officer cried during questioning and said there was “something wrong with [his] head.” But, he would then act like he had no idea why he was being interviewed.

He is currently held in the Arapahoe County jail on no bond.
