Washington State Police arrested Olivia Sondheim, a 25-year-old married teacher for having sexual relations with one of her male students.

The Snohomish Country Sheriff’s Office reported that Olivia Sondheim was arrested last week after investigators executed a search warrant at her home.

Sondheim, who was in her second year as a choir teacher at Lynnwood High School, has been charged with engaging in sexual misconduct with a minor, which is a first-degree charge.

Officials revealed that the victim was 16-years-old at the time of his reported rendezvous with the educator.

Sondheim was held at the Snohomish County Jail after her arrest and has been placed on leave from her job pending the results of the investigation, according to the Seattle Times.

The administration at the Edmonds School District first heard of the accusations against the woman last week and communicated the information to a school resource officer who, in turn, called authorities.

During the investigation, investigators allegedly discovered evidence that Sondheim and her student formed a relationship which, over time, became sexual. The victim is now 17-years-old.

Debbie Joyce, a spokeswoman for the district, told KGMI that Olivia Sondheim had passed background checks before she was hired to teach part-time at the high school in 2015.

As of Monday, Sondheim’s name was still listed on the high school’s web page.

“I am excited to get to know each and every one of you,” she wrote on the school choir page.

Sondheim explained in a Facebook message that was posted on Washington State University’s page that she and her husband, Daniel, met each other through their respective sorority and fraternity back in 2012 and got married in May 2014.
