Tennessee authorities say a 28-year-old Louisiana man, who became upset at his parents after they planned to cut him off financially, allegedly decided to cut them up first.

Knoxville Police arrested Joel Michael Guy Jr. on Wednesday for the murder of his parents, Joel and Lisa Guy, after Thanksgiving.

Lisa’ concerned co-workers visited the home check on her and discovered the dismembered bodies of both parents on Monday.

Authorities said the victims’ remains were scattered throughout the home.

Police believe Joel Michael Guy Jr. stayed in his parents’ home for some time after brutally murdering both victims before eventually returning to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he lives.

Cops arrested Joel Michael Guy Jr Wednesday morning at his apartment.

According to WATE, Guy told police he needed money and visited his parents on Thanksgiving, who informed him they wanted to cut him off financially.

Officers described the scene as “very gruesome.”

Michael MacLean, with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, said Joel and Lisa Guy died from multiple stab wounds and the suspect used an acid-based solution in an attempt to rid the bodies.

“It would be described as horrific,” he told WBRZ.
