Former Wisconsin kindergarten teacher Elizabeth Dillett has been sentenced to two years behind bars after she was found guilty of having sex with a teen boy.

The 31-year-old Dillett pleaded guilty in October to two felony charges of sexual assault of a child by someone who works with kids.

“She preyed on my son and used our friendship for access to him,” the victim’s father stated in court during Friday’s hearing. “I blame myself for trusting her.”

At one point, Dillet begged the victim’s parents not to inform the police.

Messages sent to the boy’s father said that she would “do anything to keep her name out of the public.”

According to Fox News6, Elizabeth Dillett was an athletic director at St. Peter-Immanuel Lutheran School where she also taught kindergarten.

The victim was not a student at the school, but it is alleged that the two met through athletics training.

Dillett first had sex with the teen in February at her home, and their next rendezvous occurred inside the school in March. She reportedly provided condoms to the boy during each hookup.

When the allegations first came to light in April, the woman was placed on administrative leave.

“This isn’t a circumstance where my client had some plan to have a relationship with the victim,” according to Joshua Sheri, Dillett’s defense lawyer.

However, the prosecutor opposed and referred to Dillett as manipulative.

The boy’s father stated in court that his son’s innocence was robbed from him.

“We have recognized that our son believed that he was in a healthy relationship. His opinions regarding relationships have become distorted since this incident,” the father stated.

Elizabeth Dillett apologized to her and her victim’s families in court.

“I broke your trust and our friendship. I know I crossed the line with your son and your family and it was very inappropriate of me,” she said.

According to Fox6, the woman was trembling as the judge announced her fate.

“I am confident that you were well aware of where it was and how dangerous this was. How irresponsible this was,” Judge Joseph Donald SAID. “You’re loved, respected and cherished. But for some reason, you either lost sight of that or couldn’t accept it.”

She will now be required to register as a sex offender and will be prohibited from having communication with any child under the age of 17.
