The NYPD are looking to interview the ex-convict/former boyfriend of a newly appointed New York City correctional officer who was shot and killed in Brooklyn as she sat in her parked vehicle.

As JammedUp News reported, the freshly minted officer, 25-year-old Alastasia Bryan, was off-duty visiting family and friends in the area at the time of the attack.

Bryan had just arrived at the intersection of Avenue L and E 73rd Street in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn when a male suspect who had been waiting for her got out a Honda Civic and opened fire at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, police revealed.

Bryan was struck in the torso and head, which immediately killed her, and the gunman got back into his vehicle and fled the area.

“It’s so sad and unexpected. All I want to know is why they did it?” the victim’s devastated aunt, Mintha Bryan, told The New York Post.

Bryan recently broke up with her boyfriend, who has a long criminal history with over 20 prior arrests, and began dating another officer while both were in the academy, NYPD sources told the Post.
