Law enforcement officials in the border state of Coahuila continue to seize drugs from the Los Zetas drug cartel as they attempt to smuggle contraband across the border into Texas.

Members of the Fuerza Coahuila police force recently recovered over 30 pounds of marijuana concealed inside of a spare tire.

The apprehension occurred along a dirt road, also known as Punta del Barco in Ciudad Acuna.

Police pulled over three suspects, who have only been identified as Mario, who was driving the vehicle; Abraham; and Salvador, a U.S. citizen residing in Texas.

State officials were patrolling rural dirt roads when they noticed a Suzuki Verona from which the three men got out and tried to flee. In the trunk of the vehicle, police discovered a tire that was the wrong size for the car.

As the suspects were questioned, they admitted that they were going to a location called Vega Verde in Del Rio, Texas, according to Breitbart Texas.

In another capture, officers recovered 10 pounds of meth buried inside of a car battery. The seizure was made with the assistance of a K-9 officer.

Authorities managed to intercept the pickup truck driven by a 32-year-old man, identified only as Marco Antonio, in Alameda.
