Authorities in the border state of Nuevo Leon have launched a manhunt for a Honduran double murder suspect who is believed to have stabbed two men to death before escaping the scene.

One of the arguments presented by authorities points to the man having fled to Texas, while another argues that the man returned to his native home.

Nuevo León’s Ministerial Police, which is tasked with investigating crimes in the rural area of Anahuac, confirmed the killings. Police revealed that the suspect only identified as “The Honduran” attacked the victims on Christmas and killed them with a shank before retreating.

According to Breitbart Texas, some investigators believe that the suspect escaped across the northern border and tried to cross into Texas; others allege that he went back to Honduras.

On Christmas night, El Hondureño was out drinking with the victims at La Condesa bar in the rural area of Anahuac. For unexplained reasons, the man whipped out a knife and attacked the two men.

Local police and paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. The victims have been identified as Francisco “Chico Mena” Mancinas Gutierrez, 37, and Luis Edgar “El Penco” de la Rosa Salazar, 35.
