The manhunt for the murderer of a Pennsylvania state trooper, who was dispatched to a domestic dispute before being shot, has ended after a search overnight. The alleged cop-killer is dead.

“The only good cop is a dead cop,” Jason Robinson, the 32-year-old suspected cop-killer posted on Facebook early in December.

The post was reportedly deleted from Facebook at approximately 1 a.m. on Saturday. The post also included an image of a patrol vehicle that crashed and a picture of an injured officer.

Pennsylvania State Police verified that Robinson is dead after an extensive overnight manhunt.

“Troopers encountered Robinson at an unoccupied mobile home not far from his residence,” state authorities revealed on Facebook. “Robinson refused commands to surrender, made threats to harm additional law enforcement, and was shot and killed in the ensuing confrontation.”

Landon Weaver, a state trooper, was fatally shot after responding with another officer to a call for a “domestic-related incident.” The occurrence transpired on early Friday evening. Details of the altercation remain sparse.

Weaver was reportedly dispatched to the suspect’s mother’s home to investigate a violation of an order of protection that was placed on Robinson, according to PennLive.com.

Before Trooper Weaver was killed, Robinson had several previous confrontations with law enforcement. Court records indicate that he was currently awaiting trial on charges of theft, obtaining stolen property, unauthorized use of a car, and driving without a license. He was also taken into custody by state troopers back in April for simple assault, harassment, and unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury.

A motion had been filed with the courts for a mental health assessment.

Trooper Weaver was only in his first year as a state trooper. He became a state officer in December 2015 but did not graduate from the academy until June. He is reportedly the 97th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed on duty.

He was also newly married to his high school sweetheart, Macy Gottshall.

The trooper was the 140th law enforcement officer to be killed in total this year, the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP) reported. He is the 63rd police officer in 2016 to have been murdered by gunfire. Pennsylvania has seen the loss of three other officers this year.

Scott Leslie Bashioum of the Canonsburg Borough Police Department was shot and killed only six weeks ago on November 10th. Additionally, two correctional officers, David M. Weaver and Kristopher D. Moules, also died on duty. Officer Weaver was killed in a fall, and Moules died from injuries in an attack.
