A young Florida couple was discovered dead outside of their car on New Year’s Eve with their three young sons safe in the back seat.

Authorities found 30-year-old Heather Kelsey and 32-year-old Daniel Kelsey on the I-4 just outside of DeLand, Florida, after investigating a report of an SUV parked with its hazard lights on.

The children, who range in ages from eight months to four-years-old, were brought to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Volusia County Sherrif spokesperson Andrew Gant told The Daytona Beach News-Journal that there are no signs of foul play.

The medical examiner will perform autopsies on the victims to determine the causes of their mysterious deaths.

Officers arrived just after 2 am where they discovered Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey unconscious. They were pronounced dead a short while after.

A friend described Daniel Kelsey (pictured), 32, as a loving father.

Daniel Kelsey’s friend Jerrell Jackson described the heartbreak of coping with his death, which occurred on Jackson’s 32nd birthday.

He told the News Journal that the couple’s youngest child had recently started walking and that the two were “doing great” in their new city.

He added in a Facebook post: “I can tell you Dan was a loving, devoted father (who) did anything for his kids. I loved Dan like a brother … every time you saw him, you saw his kids.”
