Authorities in New York announced the arrest of Michael Dowd, one of the most corrupt officers in the history of the NYPD was taken into custody on Long Island on accusations he choked his girlfriend.

Police sources said Michael Dowd was arrested for attacking his girlfriend in Suffolk County’s 3rd Precinct.

The disgraced Brooklyn cop was booked into the Suffolk County Jail in Riverhead on $75,000 bail after he was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, in what authorities referred to as a domestic incident, The New York Daily News reported.

The 55-year-old previously spent 12 years behind bars for running a crew of rogue cops who extorted drug dealers for protection money, robbed cocaine shipments, and resold the drugs while working in Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct in the late ’80s and early ’90s.

His corrupt exploits were recorded in the 2014 documentary “The Seven Five.”

According to his website, Michael Dowd now sells cigars named after the precinct and claims to work as an ethics consultant for the NYPD.

A man who called himself Dowd’s agent said, “I haven’t heard anything about that,” when asked about the arrest.
