Charles Manson is closing in on death’s portal, a source familiar with the man’s health issues told The New York Post.

“I don’t think he’ll be around much longer, but he can talk in his current condition,” a source with the California Corrections Department said, referring to the notorious cult leader’s health problems.

Last week, 82-year-old Manson was transferred out of Corcoran State Prison in California and was raced to a hospital about 60 miles away for emergency surgery to stop bleeding from his intestines.

However, doctors elected not to perform the operation because they believed that the man was “too weak” and could die while undergoing the procedure.

Manson was then brought back to the prison, where he remains in custody.

On Wednesday, the New York Post reported that Manson was first brought to the hospital for treatment months ago, revealing that he has been battling a disease for some time.

In 1971, Charles Manson was found guilty of being the mastermind behind one of the most infamous murder sprees in the history of American crime.
