Former Miss USA and Miss Virginia, Brittany Nicole Poteet reportedly appeared in a Sydney, Australia courtroom for reportedly assaulting her boyfriend.

Poteet, who has twice faced unrelated accusations of assault in the U.S., appeared in the Downing Centre Court in Sydney after she was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The beautiful, tall blonde briefly appeared on Wednesday before NSW Deputy Chief Magistrate Christopher O’Brien, Fox News reported.

Authorities allege that on December 16th, the 29-year-old assaulted Wade McKenzie.

McKenzie has filed an apprehended violence order (AVO) against Poteet, who is expected to enter a plea before her next appearance.

Poteet made news in the States when she was forced to deny allegations that she verbally assaulted her gay roommate and made a homophobic comment, as well as when she was charged with battery and assault against an ex-boyfriend.

The charges were dismissed and the beauty queen, who is also known as Nikki Poteet, denied the allegations.

However, Poteet was forced to relinquish her Miss United States title after she posted a photo of herself on Facebook wearing her crown with the caption “Miss Alcoholic USA.”

The pageant queen, who moved to Australia back in 2014, is an HR consultant with Cadden Crowe and is an events director for the Australian Solar Council.

Poteet won Miss Virginia in 2011 and went on to compete in the Miss USA pageant.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she said that she also worked as a volunteer mentor to Miss Teen Philippines America pageant contestants.

In her year as Miss Virginia USA, she “volunteered … to read my favorite childhood books” to immigrant children and promoted the importance of science and math to students.

Poteet also made the news after her flatmate accused her of making gay comments.

Derek Powell told Think Progress that in November 2011, at the Richmond, Virginia residence they shared, Poteet verbally assaulted him, his boyfriend and their friends.

According to Think Progress, she said, “the guy that’s in my pageant office is gay, and he’s my best friend, I talk to him every day.”

Police also arrested the woman back in March 2013 in Virginia after a dispute with her ex-boyfriend, James McElroy.

She was soon charged with misdemeanor battery and assault. Poteet appeared in a court in Richmond in May 2013. When prosecutors asked McElroy about the incident, he said he couldn’t remember, and the judge dropped the charges.

Chris Wilbur, the director of the Miss United States Pageant Organisation, told NBC News in a statement, “[Poteet’s] character was not a good fit for the organization so we gave her the option to change or leave. She chose to leave.”
