California police officials are on the hunt for Rigoberto Arevato Cubias, an undocumented immigrant in the U.S. illegally who stands accused in the sexually assault a five-year-old girl back in December.

A statement released by the Fullerton Police Department revealed that detectives had identified the 30-year-old Rigoberto Arevato Cubias as a suspect for engaging in sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under the age of 10-years-old.

The accusations against the man came to fruition on December 21st when officers responded to a hospital about the possible sexual assault of a 5-year-old.

Police Sergeant Ron Radus told ABC7 that Cubias is a friend of the victim’s family, and the reported attack occurred at a residence in Fullerton.

Cubias is in the U.S illegally from El Salvador and may be in ownership of a fraudulent California driver’s license.

The fugitive has an outstanding $50,000 arrest warrant for a DUI stemming from 2014 that was filed under the alias “Jose Cubias.”

He is known to use multiple false names, including “Jose Cubias”; “Jose Cubais Arevalo”; “Jose Riberto Cubias,” as well as “Jose Alfonso Cubias Arevalo.”

Cubias is described as a 5’7″ Hispanic man, weighing approximately 185lbs, with brown eyes and black hair.

Investigators believe that Cubias is aware that he is sought after by authorities and has abandoned his previously owned vehicle and phone in an attempt to evade capture.

Anyone who has any information about Cubias’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Fullerton Police Department’s Carin Wright at 714-738-6754. Anyone who wants to report anonymously can contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
