A young female kidnapping victim in her 20s, who was abducted from her Sherman Oaks residence on Friday night and was discovered hours later partly naked and bound with duct tape – possibly knew her kidnappers, the Los Angeles Police Department announced on Sunday.

Lieutenant Albert Galvin said that two Hispanic women – one who is about 5’ 1” and the other close to 6’ – broke into the woman’s home, bound her arms and legs with duct tape, and forced her into a car. The victim told authorities that she was taken to be placed in a prostitution ring.

“I haven’t heard of anything like this in all my years. It’s very disturbing, very concerning,” Galvin said in an interview with Fox News11.

The New York Post reported that the woman was evaluated in the hospital and was sent home on Sunday.

Authorities initially thought that the kidnapping victim did not know the criminals, and security in the area was rapidly increased.

However, now investigators believe that it wasn’t a random offense.

“I want the public to know… we don’t believe this was a stranger kidnapping. There is more to the story…” Galvin added.

The suspects, who are thought to be “armed and dangerous” — are still on the lam, he noted.

Sherri Papini, a 34-year-old mom, told authorities that she was kidnapped and held captive for three weeks in November. She was discovered beaten, bound and gagged on the side of a road.

The woman told investigators that two armed Hispanic women abducted her while she was out of a jog.

Alternatively, the Daily Mail reported that a witness said they saw Papini two days before she was discovered and described the two people she was with as two men – one White and one Hispanic.

The two incidents occurred approximately 500 miles apart.

A source close said that investigators from both cases are comparing notes.
