A superintendent in a building in Soho went into a tenant’s apartment because of a water problem only to discover his friend and Hollywood producer Matthew Lamothe — dead in a chair.

The super found 30-year-old, Matthew Lamothe, upright and unresponsive on the couch while the sink was overflowing at around 11 a.m. on Monday at a Greenwich Village apartment on Wooster St. near Prince St, located around 10:50 a.m. on Monday, the sources said.

Paramedics pronounced Lamothe dead at the scene.

Heroin and cocaine were recovered in the apartment. Investigators also located transparent envelopes imprinted with the word “Supreme,” according to police sources.

A handyman, who did not provide his name, told the New York Post that film financier Tommy Vlahopoulos leased the apartment and that Lamothe would stay with him while he was in the city.

Authorities do not suspect any criminality, but the Medical Examiner’s Office is still investigating to ascertain the cause of death.

Vlahopoulos owns Tommy V Productions and Lamothe was managing the company’s Los Angeles operations, with Vlahopoulos based in the company’s office based in New York City. according to Deadline Hollywood.

NYPD officials said the investigation into the death of Matthew Lamothe remains ongoing.
