Brianne Altice, the former teacher in Utah, who is behind bars for having sexual relations with three of her underaged male students, began sobbing during her parole hearing.

Altice pleaded guilty to three counts of felony second-degree forcible sexual abuse back in November and was sentenced to up to 30 years behind bars.

Altice is required serve at least two years behind bars, and the parole board will deliberate over the next month to determine whether a release date will be scheduled.

The mother-of-two acknowledged her actions during Tuesday’s hearing, saying to the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole that “This was no one’s fault but my own.”

The woman said she has enrolled in therapy while in prison and was addressing the self-esteem issues that she claimed led to sexual relationships with two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old.

“I clearly lost sight of my values and principles and was seeking inappropriate means to address my issues,” she stated.

Robert Yeates, the vice chairman of the parole board, reported during the hearing that Altice had sexual relations with a 16-year-old student during school lunches and in a church parking lot.

Yeates continued that the woman had sex with one of the 17-year-old boys in his house, and had inappropriate meetings with the other 17-year-old as she was facing criminal charges and was out on bail for the previous relationships.

“Did you grasp the gravity of this?” Yeates asked the woman, to which she replied: “I do not believe I did.”

The former high school English teacher noted that she justified her actions because the teens “said this and that and made me feel good about myself.”

During the hearing, she also apologized to her three victims, who did not attend, the Fox News13 reported.

She added that she was “extremely remorseful,” and told the teens that she wishes that they could move on from her “poor decisions” and live happily.

Brianne Altice also confessed that she took advantage of the attention they were paying to her.

“This was no one else’s fault but my own. This was not my ex-husband’s or the school’s, or my students’ fault. These were my poor decisions. I’m very aware of it, and I am very remorseful. I regret the decisions I made that brought us here,” she continued.

In a plea agreement, the high school teacher confessed that she had touched the genitals of the three minors between January and September 2013.

All three victims also claimed that they had sexual intercourse with the woman.

Two of the males have since filed lawsuits against her and the Davis School District.

Both lawsuits allege that Davis High School was informed of Altice’s inappropriate relationships with her students but did not protect them or fire her.

One of the suits argue that the running joke in the school was: “Who is Ms. Altice sleeping with now?”

Altice was first taken into custody back in 2013 when the 16-year-old victim told authorities that he had a relationship with her. The two other victims then came forward.

The teacher was resistant after her initial arrest, arguing at the time that the teens “wore down her defenses” and “broke down her resistance.”

Altice’s victim testified that the relationship started after they exchanged numbers and began flirting during class. They eventually started having sex.

Court records indicate that the students often skipped their classes to hang out with Altice and that she revealed her marital problems to them.

Altice adamantly denied the claims from prison with a two-page letter in which she criticized the parents of one of her victims.

In the report, Altice argued that the parents failed to attend her parent-teacher meetings and said their son frequently complained about his tense relationship with them.

She also rejected claims that she wore “risque” clothes in the classroom saying that she had never received any complaints about her work garb.

Altice also indicated that the letter was submitted to the court in response to the lawsuit because she cannot afford legal representation.

She said her victims would also frequently say “you’re hot” and “you’re sexy.”

Although Brianne Altice has been sentenced to a minimum of two years behind bars, she has also been granted credit for time served since 2015.

Altice sentenced after it was revealed that she had sex with a third male while released on bail after her arrest in 2013.

Sentencing policies suggest that Altice remains in prison until January 2020, but the final decision will be up to the parole committee.

Altice told Yeates that she will not be able to teach again and does not plan to have any contact with her victims. She also said she is willing to enroll in treatment for sex offenders.

After her release, she plans to live in a home owned by her parents and take on a job as an office assistant.

Altice’s husband divorced her after her 2013 arrest and has custody of their two kids.
