A married high school teacher has been imprisoned after she seduced one of her students and met up him for sex during the summer recess.

Brandi Lynn Vaughn, 25, formerly identified as Brandi Whittaker, of Kentucky, was accused of sexual abuse, rape, and sodomy.

She met the 16-year-old male victim in Fort Boonesborough State Park in summer 2015, and the two began having sex at her home, WKYT reported.

Her attorney managed to negotiate a plea deal, and she pleaded guilty one count of using an electronic device to persuade a minor to engage in sex and was sentenced to one year behind bars.

Vaughan began teaching at Madison Southern High School, at the beginning of the 2015/15 school year

The judge then dismissed the six other Class D felony charges against Vaughn.

Among the other felonies were one count of third-degree rape; one count of evidence tampering; two counts of first-degree sexual abuse; and two counts of third-degree sodomy;

Vaughan had started her job at Madison Southern High School at the beginning of the 2015/16 academic year.

Her LinkedIn profile indicated that she was once a volunteer for a youth program at the Berea Baptist Church.

Additionally, social media posts showed that the church hosted a bridal shower for her in 2013.

However, the biology teacher was arrested in August 2015.

The Richmond Register reported the teacher admitted to investigators that she had sex with the then-16-year-old male student on two occasions, according to the Berea Police Department.

The age of consent in Kentucky is 16. However, rape, sexual abuse, and sodomy laws still apply if the victim is under 18 and the suspect is in a position of authority.
