Haeli Wey, the former Texas teacher pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in an improper relationship with a student on Friday.

Wey, 29, was arrested in December 2015 after she reportedly engaged in sexual acts with two 17-year-old boys.

She worked as a teacher at Westlake High School in Austin.

The woman will not be required to register as a sex offender, and her lawyer said she would most likely receive probation at her sentencing on March 10th, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

It is illegal for teachers in Texas to have sex with students, even if they are 17 years old, which is the state’s age of consent.

Wey was purportedly involved in two different months-long relationships with teen boys at the school. Authorities said that the crimes occurred during summer and fall of 2015.

Haeli Wey met the first teen at a student ministry program in June, and later, accompanied him and his family on a service trip to Africa. While on that trip she and the teen had sex roughly ten times, according to an affidavit obtained by 48 Hours’ Crimesider.

The two then engaged in a months-long relationship that concluded when the student learned that Wey and another student, also 17, went out together on a hike.

The first student ultimately told his parents about his relationship with Wey, while the second boy said they engaged in “sexual contact” while on their hike.

Wey was terminated from her job in late October and willingly surrendered her teacher certification on December 15th.
