Tattooed covered child molester captured after police manhunt

A child molester, who went missing after he was released from federal prison, has been captured after a mugshot was disseminated asking for people to watch out for the heavily tattooed criminal.

Matthew Stager, 45, was discharged from the Federal Correctional Institution in Petersburg, Virginia on Tuesday, and was ordered to show up that same day to a Texas transitional center.

However, the man never showed up, and U.S. Marshals began searching to locate the convicted child molester.

A mugshot of was distributed showing his heavily tattooed face and strawberry hair that he had in braids.

Within hours, he was found and arrested in Washington D.C., KTLA reported.

Stager’s previous offenses include a conviction for taking indecent liberties with a 15-year-old in North Carolina.

Marshals said that he has a history of mental health and drug abuse problems.

In the past, he has used the aliases Jesse Crew and Moon Black.
