Milwaukee fifth grade teacher, 24, is arrested for ‘sexually assaulting 11-year-old male student

A 24-year-old Milwaukee elementary school teacher allegedly sexually assaulted one of her 11-year-old students and told authorities that she wanted to make her male victim “happy.”

Katherine Gonzalez was charged with one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13-years-old in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sunday.

Prosecutors said the fifth-grade teacher at Atlas Preparatory Academy had been exchanging messages with one of her students on SnapChat, according to Fox News6 reported.

The criminal complaint revealed that Gonzalez had contact with the student at her home and in her car.

The pair touched each other’s “private parts through their clothing,” prosecutors indicated.

The teacher reportedly told the boy not to tell anyone about their relationship because she could get fired and go to jail.

Gonzalez told police that the kid is “chronically depressed” and confessed to saying things to make the 11-year-old happy.

When questioned by police, she admitted that she wanted the child to see that someone cared about him.

Gonzalez appeared in court, and a judge established her cash bond at $15,000 while also ordering that she not have any contact with the victim.

She is also forbidden from using social media, a phone, or a computer.

School administrators sent a letter to parents on March 3rd that revealed that one of the teachers was placed on leave.

The letter, which was from the Atlas Preparatory Academy executive director Michelle Lukacs, indicated that the Milwaukee Police Department is investigating accusations that a teacher at the school of exhibiting inappropriate behavior with a student outside of school grounds.
