Rapper Waka Flocka Flame was acquitted on weapons charges in connection with a 2014 arrest at Atlanta airport.

A lawyer for the hip-hop artist announced a jury had found his client not guilty of charges filed after TSA officials at Atlanta’s airport, discovered a handgun in his carry-on bag during a security scan, back in October 2014, the Associated Press reported.

Defense attorney Drew Findling said a jury took deliberated less than half an hour on Thursday to find his client not guilty following a four-day trial in Clayton County Court.

Waka Flocka Flame, whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs, had faced charges including carrying a weapon in an unauthorized location.

After the verdict, the rapper expressed his delight with the jury’s decision on Twitter. “Four days on trial… Not guilty,” he tweeted.

Throughout the trial, the defense maintained that the whole incident was a mistake and that the rapper had mistakenly taken his then-fiancee, now wife, Tammy Rivera’s bag to the airport without knowing the gun was inside.

Rivera is a licensed gun owner.

“As soon as he got stopped, he said that the gun was not his and that he had packed his wife’s backpack on his way to a performance in Houston; they were staying in a hotel before moving into a new house,” Findling told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
