Police say a 31-year-old Chicago man accused of forcing a woman into the trunk of a vehicle, and driving close to 20 miles before he crashed into a tree has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault.

Jarqueese O’Brian Henigan mugged a 24-year-old female victim and sexually assaulted her in Chicago.

Henigan has been charged with multiple felonies, including aggravated criminal assault, kidnapping, and vehicular hijacking, possessing a controlled substance, armed robbery and being an armed “habitual criminal,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The suspect went up to the woman with a gun while she was leaving a garage just before 8:30 pm.

The woman gave the man her possessions before Henigan sexually assaulted her.

Police officials say he then forced her inside of her vehicle’s trunk and drove away, stopping at several ATMs to try to withdraw money.

Henigan crashed the woman’s Mazda into a tree approximately 22 miles south of the garage, according to police.

He fled the scene and the woman managed to get out of the trunk before she was taken to the hospital.

Henigan also had an arrest warrant for resisting a peace officer and he remains in custody after a judge denied him bail.

The kidnapping suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
