On Friday, the FBI investigated an isolated location in South Carolina for a potential link with the disappearance of 17-year-old Brittannee Drexel who investigators believe was kidnapped almost eight years ago while on spring break.

A jury was provided testimony last summer that a jailhouse snitch told authorities that in 2009, Drexel’s remains was fed to alligators after she was fatally shot while trying to flee from a drug stash house where she was being held captive by men who repeatedly raped her.

A lawyer for Drexel’s mother said the FBI was examining an area in Georgetown County, according to Fox Carolina, the Post and Courier reported.

FBI agents have implicated Timothy Da’Shaun Taylor (left) in a new report that cites a jailhouse confession by Taquan Brown (right) who claimed he saw Drexel’s rape and murder (he is in prison on a separate case).

A spokesperson for the FBI in South Carolina told Fox Carolina that agents were engaging in “investigative activity” with local authorities in Georgetown County.

The probe was taking place near a dirt road off Highway 521.

In June, the FBI revealed that it believed Brittannee Drexel was murdered in the McClellanvill area in April 2009.

Drexel was last seen in footage recorded April 25, 2009. She was leaving the Blue Water Hotel in Myrtle Beach.

She was from Rochester and went to South Carolina without her parents’ knowledge.
