Ohio Police say a “couple of gunmen” shot 16 people at a Cincinnati nightclub, killing at least one person early Sunday.

Law enforcement officials say 16 people were struck by a spray of gunfire, one fatally, at the Cameo club along the Ohio River around 2:30 a.m.

Officers on the scene described the attack as a “shooting spree.”

According to Assistant Police Chief Paul Neudigate, most of the revelers caused a “chaotic and horrific crime scene” attempting to flee the club.

“It’s going to be a long night for our homicide units to investigate. Many of the witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed,” Neudigate told WLWT-TV

The police official added that several victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

Authorities haven’t confirmed whether the shooting suspects had been identified or arrested. However, sources told the local affiliate the gunmen still remains at large.

Family members and friends of the victims gathered outside the University Hospital, one of the four hospitals where victims were taken by ambulances and private means, according to the Cincinnati TV station.

The nightclub was the site of two separate parking lot shooting incidents back in 2015. However, neither of the shooting events were fatal, according to local reports.
