Federal ICE agents have apprehended 82 undocumented immigrants in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C., including two members of the MS-13 gang.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted a five-day investigation across the three states which targeted 68 undocumented immigrants who were found guilty of crimes such as armed robbery and drug dealing.

Furthermore, two of the suspects arrested are alleged MS-13 gang members. Another two suspects had already been assigned deportation, along with two others who face local charges.

Three other detainees apprehended by ICE had overstayed their visas, another is sought for crimes in a foreign country, and one is a convicted human rights criminal in a foreign country. The remaining suspects arrested were in the U.S. illegally, NBC Washington reported.

“This week’s operation removed immigration violators with a variety of convictions from driving under the influence to grand larceny from our communities,” ICE’s Washington Field Office Director Yvonne Evans said.

The arrests include:

– A 50-year-old man from Somalia in Virginia. He was identified as a second lieutenant of the Somalian National Security Service, a group associated with human rights violations, sexual abuse, torture and extrajudicial killings. He also has a drug conviction.

– A 40-year-old citizen of Trinidad and Tobago in Virginia. He has convictions for drug distribution and gun possession.

– A 45-year-old from the Dominican Republic in Virginia. He has been convicted of selling cocaine and attempted robbery.

Those who were detained are from 26 nations, including Mexico, Ghana, Algeria, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Iran, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Somalia, Trinidad, and Vietnam.

Officials said all of those rounded up are either awaiting deportation or a hearing in immigration court.
