A poker-playing doctor from Kentucky recently captured on video getting dragged off an overbooked United flight, that has since gone viral, evidently has a sordid past.

The footage shows airport security staff at Chicago’s O’Hare pulling a battered 69-year-old Dr. David Dao off a Louisville-bound United flight on Sunday.

Court documents filed with the Kentucky Board of Medical indicates the pulmonary disease specialist from Elizabethtown, has a prior arrest and conviction for a drug-related case in connection with an undercover investigation.

The probe found Dao had arranged to provide drugs to a male patient half his age who he had later hired as his office manager in return for sex.

According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Dao, who attended medical school in Vietnam in the 1970s before moving to the U.S., had become sexually interested in the man.

Dao was eventually convicted of multiple felony counts including fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs and was handed five years of supervised probation.

The melee on board the United flight has caused a public relations nightmare for the airline.

The incident prompted scores of people to poke fun on social media at the extent the airline went to remove Dao from the flight.

” “”We Put The Hospital In Hospitality”“We’ll drag you all over the world” and We overbooked but you pay the price, are among some of the funny slogans offered up on social media under the hashtag #NewUnitedAirlinesMottos.
