Rapper Tyga taken into custody in L.A.
Rapper Tyga was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police on Wednesday on suspicion of DUI but luckily managed to avoid serious charges
LAPD officials told the New York Daily News that cops had pulled over Tyga’s Mercedes G Wagon around 1:30 a.m. in Hollywood because he was driving with paper plates.
The rapper was partying at Avenue nightclub in Hollywood just before the traffic stop occurred.
Because of the swarm of paparazzi, police officers opted to take the hip-hop artist, whose real name is Michael Ray Stevenson, to the station house instead of conducting a field sobriety test at the scene.
When officers determined Stevenson was not intoxicated, they released him with a ticket for a traffic infraction, TMZ reported.
LAPD officials maintained the 27-year-old hip-hop star, was not arrested or charged with any crime during the incident.
Tyga had recently posted several pictures of his new luxury SUV on Instagram.
The past few weeks have been rough for the rapper, who recently split up with his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
He and the 19-year-old reality star have broken up on several occasions since they began dating back in 2014.
