Cheryl Pierson, the Selden, New York woman who had her father murdered after she endured years of sexual abuse has rebuilt her life with her high school sweetheart turned husband.

As a popular teen cheerleader, no one had any clue about the hell that Cheryl Pierson experienced at her home – not even her boyfriend, who is now her husband, Rob Cuccio.

Her father James threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone that she had been abused and raped by him on a near daily basis since her mother Cathleen died from kidney disease in 1985.

“He would say he’d kill me and anyone that I told. I believed him,” she stated in an interview with People Magazine.

Cheryl Pierson (left, in 1987, and today with her her husband Rob) offered to pay one of her high school classmates $1,000 to murder her father in 1986

Cheryl languished in silence, however, when her father threatened to abuse her eight-year-old sister, JoAnn, her attitude changed.

One morning at her school in 1986, Cheryl talked about a hitman plot that she had seen on TV. She asked her classmates if anyone would want to carry out a hit for cash.

No-one took her seriously at the time except Sean Pica, a junior at the school.

He agreed to do it for $1,000 after she came clean with her secret, that her father raped her.

Soon after, James, a 42-year-old electrician, was shot five times in the head and chest in his driveway.

Cheryl, who maintains she never believed Sean would go through with it, was shocked.

Despite her surprise, she and Rob managed to get $400 to pay the killer. Shortly after, they were arrested.

Cheryl, who was just 16-years-old, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six months behind bars – and was released in three months for good behavior. Rob, 20, was given probation for solicitation.

However, Sean, who was only 18, was sentenced to 24 years behind bars after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Relatives and friends of the Pierson’s later said that they thought something was strange in the relationship between Pierson and his daughter, but no-one ever reported it to the police.

James was described as “gruff and foul-mouthed with an aggressive, macho style no one would dispute,” the New York Times reported.

The tough father taught his three kids to be quiet when adults were in the room. They were not allowed to drink water at the table until they had finished eating, according to her brother James Junior.

Cheryl says she has begun a new chapter after prison with Rob and their two children

If he didn’t like the way his children behaved, he would threaten to smack them.

However, the situation escalated when her mother was diagnosed with kidney disease while Cheryl was only 10-years-old.

After her mother died in 1985, her father raped her up to three times a day.

The mother-of-two, who lives on Long Island, NY, said that even after her father’s death, she still felt unsafe.

Although she carries the pain of the sexual abuse, Cheryl has been able to form a new life.

In January 1998, Cheryl was picked up in a white limo by her brother James and Rob to begin a new chapter.

A few years later, Cheryl and Rob were married and had two children.

She has now written a book about her life, titled: Incest, Murder and a Miracle: The True Story Behind the Cheryl Pierson Murder-for-Hire Headlines, which is available on Amazon.
