A man from Wisconsin, who is on trial for the slaying of his girlfriend and her 4-year-old daughter, recited lyrics from the song “Space Bound” by rapper Eminem, telling investigators that the song may help them understand the horrible crime.

In a video conversation played for the courtroom on Wednesday, Patrick D. Fowler admitted to the horrific March 2016 killing and told investigators to listen to the song, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

When asked for lyrics, Fowler quoted the first verse in which Eminem threatens his girlfriend about the consequences of hurting him.

“Don’t play games; it’ll be dangerous if you f— me over,” Fowler said repeating the lyrics. “‘Cause if I get burnt I’ll show you what it’s like to hurt. Cause I’ve been treated like dirt before you and love are evil, spell it backward. I’ll show ya.”

During his video recorded admission, the 33-year-old man said he stabbed his girlfriend of one month Jessica Ellenberger and her daughter Madyson Marshel because Ellenberger treated him “like he was a dog.”

Fox 6 reported that Ellenberger was stabbed 26 times while her daughter watched.

“He continued to stab her and then went into the kitchen and grabbed more knives and stabbed her some more as Madyson was screaming” Detective James Campbell testified at a preliminary hearing.

After he had killed the 28-year-old mother, Fowler fatally stabbed the little girl twice.

Detectives said the man “prayed awhile” and then used coloring books to light the bodies on fire.
