A corrections officer in Cuyahoga County, Ohio is facing drug charges, the second jail officer in weeks at the center of a drug investigation.

An Ohio Prison spokesperson in Cuyahoga County confirmed that Brian Salters was taken into custody last week.

According to court records, Cleveland Police arrested Salters on the east side of the city last week. Authorities revealed that he had weed, heroin, cocaine, and ecstasy on him at the time. Fifth District detectives reported that they saw him engage in “2 hand to hand Exchanges,” and has since been charged with drug trafficking, Fox8 Cleveland reported.

The county did clarify, however, that he never smuggled drugs into the county jail. Ironically, he was booked in the same jail before he posted bond.

Weeks before, another corrections officer, Kamara Austin, was charged with bringing drugs into the jail for a prisoner.

As of right now, Salters has been placed on unpaid leave. He was employed by the county since 2013.
