On Tuesday, a former Las Vegas stripper, who was found guilty of operating a drug trafficking ring in four states, was sentenced to over 17 years in federal prison.

Loren M. Toelle, 52, was hit with an additional five years of probation after she accepted a plea deal for managing the drug ring from 2009 to 2016. She was also ordered to relinquish assets worth more than $2 million in cash and property.

Toelle pleaded guilty in January to distributing oxycodone, heroin, and meth in parts of Idaho, Washington, Montana and North Dakota. Her friends and kids from other marriages were also implicated in the ring.

The ex-Vegas stripper accepted full responsibility for her actions and apologized to everyone she hurt during the hearing, the Las Vegas Journal-Review reported.

“I did what I did and deserve to be punished,” she said in court.

“To see some of the people I poison, would I want that for my child? I want to apologize to America because that is not the way we were brought up,” she continued, apologizing to her father, who was a minister, and her kids.

Toelle’s husband, Dr. Stanley Toelle, also pleaded guilty to filing false tax records with the Internal Revenue Service in 2012 and 2013. He told the judge he was not aware of his wife’s drug dealing at the time.

Dr. Toelle, a gastroenterologist, will have to pay close to $50,000 in back taxes as part of his agreement. He forfeited $150,000 in assets that came from his wife’s drug operation, according to authorities. The doctor might still face up to a year behind bars and is expected to be sentenced in August.

Loren Toelle, who was also known by the nickname “Mama,” met the doctor in 2005 in Las Vegas.

Toelle lived in Las Vegas while her husband lived in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He sent her a check every month and extra cash to pay bills when she asked for funds.

Toelle maintained that her husband didn’t know about her drug operation and said she lied to him about having businesses that included a daycare, a salon, and the sales of hair extensions and beauty supplies.

Ten others were also charged in the case.
