In Michigan, a female prison food worker was fired on Wednesday after she was caught having sex with an inmate in a kitchen refrigerator.

The Trinity Services Group employee was axed for “over-familiarity,” and may face criminal charges, according to Department of Corrections spokesman Chris Gautz.

The rendezvous occurred at the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson, The Detroit Free Press reported.

Gautz said the employee’s behavior was “serious and completely unacceptable” because it “jeopardizes the safety of the prisoner, staff, and facility.”

“The individual was removed from the facility and will no longer be allowed at the prison,” he told the Detroit Free Press.

The 40-year-old prisoner is serving between 5 and 15-years for robbery.

“Prisoners have no ability under the law to consent to sex,” Gautz continued.

It is up to the Michigan State Police and prosecutor to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.

Another Trinity Services Group prison food worker had been fired in September after she was caught kissing an inmate, also in a kitchen refrigerator.
