A former Ohio substitute teacher was sentenced to prison on Monday after confessing to having sex with one of her students, who her husband provided with alcohol.

Jessica Storer, 29, had sex with an 18-year-old student inside of the residence she shared with her husband, 33-year-old Derrick Storer after they welcomed a group of students into their home last year.

Judge Randall Basinger sentenced her to two years behind bars after the mom-of-two pleaded guilty to sexual battery.

A letter written by the victim that was read in court explained that since the incident, he had tried to commit suicide, has been harassed at Pandora-Gilboa High School, bullied on the Internet, and is the subject of gossip, according to LimaOnline.com.

“I should have been able to trust her,” the letter stated. “I’m trying to get my life together. Jessica Storer has made the last six months a living hell for me. I hated it and myself for doing it.”

The victim’s father also spoke in court about his son’s suicide attempts and stated: “He is trying to make his way out of this. Our son is going to live with this for the rest of his life.”

The victim’s statement also indicated that Storer manipulated him when he confided in her about a bad breakup.

Storer, who was a substitute teacher throughout the Putnam County Educational Service Center, was questioned by investigators on December 13th after police received a tip the day before.

Detectives contacted the 18-year-old who said he was given alcohol before he had sex with the woman.

When Storer was interviewed, she confessed to having sex with the victim and was arrested on December 21st after the Pandora Police Department conducted an investigation.

Storer contended to Judge Randall Basinger during her sentencing that the teen served himself the alcohol at her house.

“The relationship between the 18-year-old and I was a one-time thing,” she said to the judge. “I accept responsibility for him drinking and for not saying no. I do feel it was consensual. It was not forced.”

Before she was given her sentence, she asked Basinger to take into account her mental health, maintaining that she was taking medicine for depression and bipolar disorder.

In addition to the prison sentence, Storer will have to remain a registered sex offender for life.

In April, her husband pleaded guilty to multiple counts of providing alcohol to a minor and is facing 18 months behind bars.
