FBI officials in Massachusetts are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the apprehension of a fugitive who is a member of a brutal street gang.

According to the FBI, 24-year-old Diego Barros Pires is wanted after he was charged along with three others in the abduction of an adult and two children in 2016. In March, an arrest warrant was issued for kidnapping and aiding and abetting charges.

Authorities said they consider the man to be an armed and dangerous member of a Brockton gang, WCVB reported.

“Pires is considered armed and dangerous, and he poses a danger to the public,” Harold H. Shaw, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston Division, said.

Pires, who is also as “Smurf” or “Do It” has a tattoo on each forearm. On his right, it says, “R.I.P Johnny” and the left tattoo says “Kyle.”

He is a U.S. citizen of Cape Verdean descent with black hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs roughly 160 pounds.

“At this point, we’ve exhausted all leads in locating him, and we’re asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement,” Shaw added.

Anyone with knowledge about Pires is asked to call the local police or the FBI.
