Authorities in Arkansas have opened an investigation after a 3-month-old baby was discovered with a fractured skull and crazy glue over his mouth.

A police report revealed that an officer rushed to the hospital last month after responding to an assault report.

Officials said that when the cop arrived, he noticed that the baby was swollen, bruised, and bloody around his face, as well as what looked liked super glue around his mouth.

The officer stated in the report the baby’s horrific injuries were “consistent with abuse.”

The report also noted that tests indicated that the infant had a fractured skull and broken ribs, requiring doctors to prepare him to be airlifted to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital for additional, more intensive treatment.

Investigators have since reported that the person who called police said that the baby’s maternal aunt had asked them to check on the child.

When the caller arrived at the residence, she discovered a juvenile babysitting and rushed the baby to the hospital, as he was clearly in critical condition.

WREG reported that the unidentified caller told authorities that the child’s mother usually left him home alone.

When detectives spoke with the mother over the phone, she reportedly pledged to come to the hospital, but she never did.

The Department of Human Services and Kennett Police were also informed of the incident.
