A North Carolina prep school teacher, who was taken into custody for having inappropriate sexual contact with three of her students, made her first court appearance on Tuesday.

Erin Elizabeth McAuliffe, 25, did not comment after she appeared before a Nash County judge.

The woman walked down the hallway of the courthouse with a notebook covering her face while ignoring questions from a journalist.

The former math teacher at Rocky Mount Preparatory School was taken into custody last week on charges of sexual activity with a student and indecent liberties with a minor in connection with the purported off-campus sexual encounters with two 17-year-olds and one 16-year-old, all three of the victims were male.

McAuliffe, who posted $20,000 bail and was released from the Carteret County Jail, last worked at the school on May 4th, the day before authorities were informed by school employees of the allegations.

“We have been cooperative with law enforcement during their handling of this matter,” school administrators announced in a statement.

The former prep school teacher is scheduled to appear back in court on June 29th.
