A mother watched on nannycam the horrific moment her young special needs child suffered abuse at the hands of a nurse who was supposed to take care of him.

Dyanna Ko experienced every parent’s worse nightmare as she inspected her nannycam using a phone app to see how her infant son with special needs was being looked after while she was not home.

Landon’s situation is a delicate one. He has Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, meaning he eats through a feeding tube, cannot speak, is blind in one eye, and requires around the clock care.

Ko, who is from Los Angeles, opened the app and saw the nurse, who gets paid hundreds of dollars a week, hitting her son and shaking him.

“I told the other moms, I think my special needs baby is being abused. I think I’m going to pass out,” Ko told CBS Los Angeles.

Then, the nurse is seen rolling up a magazine and uses it to hit the baby.

What made the incident worse was that Ko was watching it unfold there was nothing she or her husband could do to stop it.

They were helpless as they both were 20 minutes away at one of their other children’s basketball games.

Ko and her husband dialed 911 and authorities rushed to the home.

The nurse was immediately arrested.

The woman in the footage has been identified as Thelma Manalastas who was working for Maxim Healthcare Services that provides home health care.

The company released a statement that said: “Upon learning of this, we conducted an investigation that resulted in the termination of Manalastas’ employment with Maxim. We have notified the California Board of Nursing and will continue to cooperate with authorities as they investigate.”

The family is not satisfied with the statement and have filed a suit against the nurse and Maxim.
