Actress and star of ‘Boyhood’ Lorelei Linklater was sentenced to three years of deferred probation in Texas after she pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine in Texas last week.

The 24-year-old, who is also the daughter of director Richard Linklater, was arrested last May in Waco after getting into an accident.

The arresting trooper reported that she “had a blank look on her face” and did not remember what lane she was driving in.

After the officer had conducted a field sobriety test, Linklater was taken into custody for intoxicated driving. The trooper discovered pills and a bag of cocaine in her purse. In addition to the DWI, she was also charged with cocaine possession.

Lorelei Linklater said she had also been taking anti-depressants. This past May, she pleaded guilty to cocaine possession, paid $1,000 penalty, and her DWI charge was dismissed.

Her lawyer, Rob Swanton, said the sentence was appropriate, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported.

“She is a nice, young lady who made a mistake and accepted responsibility for it, and the judge imposed a very appropriate punishment,” Stanton said.

Linklater’s most well-known role was in her father’s coming-of-age drama Boyhood, which portrayed a young boy’s journey to adulthood and was shot over 12 years. The movie was nominated for six Academy Awards.

Her father was also the director of Dazed and Confused and School of Rock.

Lorelei will be making an appearance on the big screen this September where she will star beside Kirsten Dunst in Woodshock, a drug-fueled thriller that was shot in Dallas.
