A Pennsylvania man was arrested Sunday for what prosecutors referred to as the “savage” and “senseless” killing of a recent high school graduate who was shot in the head during a road-rage incident as the two tried to merge into a single lane.

David Desper, 28, is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder in the tragic road-rage shooting death Bianca Nikol Roberson, Tom Hogan, the Chester County District Attorney, announced.

Police say he shot Roberson – who was driving home after shopping for clothes for college with her mom and grandmother – in the head on Wednesday with a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun, 6ABC reported.

Desper and Roberson, who had just graduated and was going to attend Jacksonville University in Florida, were trying to merge into a single lane as a two-lane road narrowed.

Hogan said the man confessed to becoming furious when their cars were merging into the same lane of a highway.

“They jockeyed for position, and he wasn’t happy, he pulled out a gun and shot Bianca in the head, killing her,” Hogan added.

Roberson’s vehicle drifted and hit a tree, while the suspect’s vehicle “took off like a bat out of hell,” Hogan continued.

Surveillance pictures and footage of Desper’s truck were disseminated, and tips from the shocked public poured in.

Police recovered the firearm, which he bought legally in 2015, in his bedroom.
