Members of the ultra-violent MS-13 gang recorded themselves murdering a 15-year-old girl in January in a vicious assault carried out with a knife and a large wooden stake.

Jose Cerrato, a 17-year-old MS-13 member, was snapping orders and narrating as he made the video with a phone to send to MS-13 heads in El Salvador who ordered the killing, according to FBI agent Fernando Uribe in his testimony in a Virginia court on Monday.

The victim, Damaris Reyes Rivas, was executed on January 8th at a park in Virginia. Police discovered her body buried under railroad ties one month later. She had been stabbed multiple times.

It’s not clear if the footage was ever sent to El Salvador, but Uribe testified that Cerrato was advanced in the gang for his participation in the killing.

Uribe testified before a judge weighing whether the teen killer should be tried as an adult on murder, kidnapping and gang charges. After the testimony, the judge decided that Cerrato could stand trial as an adult, Fox News reported.

Cerrato is one of 10 MS-13 members-four adults and six teenagers—who have been with Damaris slaying. Of the 10, four were illegally in the U.S.

Her killers alleged that she lured another MS-13 member, 21-year-old Christian Sosa Rivas, to his murder a week prior.

Eight defendants have been charged with that execution, which includes 17-year-old Venus Romero Iraheta, one of the main alleged attackers who helped carried out the murder.

The paper reported that the two murders exemplify an MS-13 resurgence in the DC area—and the gang’s violence in enforcing internal control.

Uribe testified that Cerrato tried to get Damaris to confess on camera that she played a role in Sosa’s slaying.

He said Damaris was also forced to take off her clothes on a frigid day so “she could feel the cold that Christian did.”
