Maryland authorities indict teens in gang-related machete attack

On Friday, two teens accused of a gang-related machete attack in Maryland were indicted by a grand jury, according to Charlie Smith, the State’s Attorney.

Alejandro Daniel Rodriguez, 17, and Kevin Alexander Orellana, 16, of Frederick, Maryland, were charged with gang participation and two counts each of first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit assault, along with reckless endangerment.

Authorities identified Rodriguez and Orellana as the teens responsible for the gang-related attack on the two young victims on May 16th, The Fredrick News Post reported.

Witnesses told police that Rodriguez waved a machete at two boys at a bus stop after he and Orellana confronted them.

The boys were not wounded, and they fled.

The two teens have been identified as members of the 18th Street gang.

– Douglas Osmin Salazar, 35, was indicted on sex assault of a minor along with four counts of third-degree sexual offense.
– Xavier Reede Reynolds, 18, was indicted on charges of theft, first- and fourth-degree burglary, and malicious destruction of property.
– Ricky Shelton Ward, 40, was indicted on charges of armed robbery, robbery, theft, and second-degree assault.
– Sarah Ann Salmon, 32, was indicted on charges of possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug administration equipment, possession of a syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.
– Justin Godfrey Mitchell, 34, was indicted possession of marijuana, alprazolam, methadone, morphine, and metandienone, and possession with intent to distribute. He was also charged with possessing a firearm in a drug trafficking offense and two counts of possession of drug administration equipment.
– Devon Allen Filmore Runkles, 23, was indicted on charges of robbery, assault, theft, and committing a violent crime in front of a minor.
– Mark Allan Hamilton, 35, was indicted on first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
– Michael John Cocilova, 34, and Joseph Daniel Smith, 20, were each indicted on armed robbery, robbery, theft, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft, along with second-degree assault.
