Riveting footage captured the shocking moment a uniformed Baltimore Police officer appears to plant narcotics at a crime scene in an apparent attempt to frame a suspect in a drug case.

The video, which was published Wednesday, taken from an officer’s body camera during an investigation in January, has prompted Baltimore Police to launch an internal investigation, The Daily Mail reported.

An unidentified officer in the 90-second clip can be seen handling a bag of pills.  The unnamed cop appears to place the drugs inside what looks like a discarded soup can.

He then alerts the cops after discovering the same bag of white pills he planted.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the defendant who was scheduled to stand trial in the case has remained in custody as a result of the drug charges.

Prosecutors subsequently dropped the charges in the wake of the video.

‘We take allegations like this very seriously, and that’s why we launched an internal investigation into the accusations.

The police officer then walks past two other officers who had been standing behind him the entire time

‘We, fortunately, have Body Worn Cameras which provide a perspective on the events as reported.’

“We are all appalled, something is going to happen because of this revelation,” the prosecutor on the case said to .'”

Debbie Katz Levi, the defendant’s public defender voiced her outrage at the video given the fact he was scheduled to testify in other cases since the department became aware of the shocking footage.

‘They had knowledge of what happened, (police officials) watched it and were appalled by what was on the video, and then for whatever reason made a choice to continue calling him as a witness,’ Levi told WBFF.

‘You can’t try a case with that guy and not tell anyone about it.”
