O.J. Simpson goes before parole board live.

The Juice” is loose. A parole board granted O.J. Simpson parole Thursday after serving nearly nine years behind bars for a 2007 armed robbery in Las Vegas.

Simpson, 70, will walk out of Lovelock Correctional Center a free man as early as Oct. 1 – when he will have served the minimum of nine years of a 33-year maximum sentence.

Former football star and convicted felon O.J. Simpson will command the world’s attention once again Thursday when he pleads for his freedom on live TV.

Simpson was convicted in 2008 of an armed robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room. The 70-year-old will ask four parole board members to release him in October after serving the minimum nine years of a 33-year sentence.

An aging Simpson will appear as inmate No. 1027820, dressed in blue jeans and a blue button-down shirt, in a stark hearing room in a remote Nevada prison.

You organized this crime which two victims were robbed at gunpoint. It was a serious crime and there was no excuse for it. You deserved to be sent to prison,” said one of the commissioners, Tony Corda.

Corda noted, though, that Simpson has had no disciplinary record while locked up and was unlikely to commit future crimes.

“You have complied with the rules of the prison,” Corda said. “You have stable support and release plans.”
