Authorities in upstate New York charged a Texas man, who was set to be married, with arson for torching eight vehicles after his wedding was called off.

Plattsburgh police officials said the arson suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jimmy Williams, was arrested in Texas on July 9th.

Williams arrived back in Plattsburgh late Tuesday, where he appeared in court for his arraignment on eight counts of arson.

Jimmy Williams (pictured in his mugshot) was arrested for allegedly torching eight cars in Plattsburgh, NY.

The judge ordered Williams to remain in custody at the Clinton County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

Officers and firefighters responded to the scene of the blaze in the north end of the city, located about 20 miles south of the Canadian border after receiving calls regarding several cars on fire.

Police said several vehicles had sustained minor damage from the fire but at least two others were destroyed.

Williams was engaged to a woman named Kimberly (believed to be Kimberly Fulton, right, with Williams) but the wedding was canceled

Investigators went over hours of footage taken from a street surveillance video before focusing on Williams as the arson suspect.

According to NBC New York, cops managed to track down Williams near Houston area and arrested him.

His Facebook page indicated that Williams had moved to Plattsburg and was engaged to a local woman named Kimberly Wonton, The Daily Mail reported.

Police officials haven’t stated the reason why the wedding was called off.
