A truck abandoned with 178 Central American migrants inside was found on Saturday in Veracruz, Mexico.

These migrants, who were trying to get to the U.S., were abandoned by smugglers inside of a semi-trailer.

The migrants became hungry and left the truck, which is when they realized their smugglers had abandoned them, Univision reported.

Authorities discovered the 178 Central American migrants and quickly transported them to a hospital for medical care.

Last week, a group of immigrants was found dead in a parking lot in San Antonio after a trailer overheated.

According to U.S. officials, up to 200 immigrants were packed in the truck where 38 bodies were discovered.

The survivors were informed they had to take turns to breathe through a hole. The temperature had risen to 65 degrees Celsius in the trailer where there was no air conditioning.

The truck’s driver, 60-year-old James Matthew Bradley, Jr., was arrested and charged.

One of the migrants discovered was a 20-year-old Guatemalan man.

U.S. officials have revealed that the number of illegals embarking on the dangerous trip to illegally enter the U.S. has dropped in recent months, mostly because of President Trump’s immigration policies.
