A 26-year-old male prostitute was discovered dead at the residence of Ed Buck, a well-known Democratic party donor in late July after a drug overdose.

The incident took place on July 27th just before 7:30 pm at Ed Buck’s West Hollywood residence.

Buck is a high-profile political activist and wealthy donor to the California and Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

The Coroner in Los Angeles County declared Gemmel Moore’s death an “accident” from a meth overdose.

However, Moore’s family things that there was foul play involved in the hours between Gemmel’s arrival at Buck’s residence and his death.

Gemmel Moore, 26, was found dead in West Hollywood, CA on July 27th

In a phone interview with the WeHo Times, Gemmel Moore’s mother, LaTisha Nixon, indicated that her son had been involved with sex-work for a few years.

“I called one of my son’s friends and was like, ‘who the hell is Edward Buck?'” Nixon said, speaking from her residence in Spring, Texas. “My son’s friend was like, ‘oh my God, that white guy, that wealthy white politician guy.'”

A one-time Republican, Buck started to get involved in politics in Southern California in the early 1990s.

He became a successful businessman, specifically in electronic information services.

Ed Buck soon became a city councilman for West Hollywood and AIDS activist.

During Nixon’s discussion with her son’s friend, a picture of Moore’s life started to emerge, with Buck reportedly playing a role, The Daily Mail reported.

“When he calmed down, he told me that Buck was one of my son’s clients and that Buck was one of his clients as well,” Nixon added. “[Buck] would have my son to go to… Santa Monica Boulevard looking for gay black guys so he could inject them with drugs, see their reaction and take pictures of them.”

Currently, Buck is not a suspect in Moore’s death.

Nixon added that detectives with the West Hollywood Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department informed her that no drugs or paraphernalia were discovered at the residence after her son’s death.

An anonymous source who claimed that he and Gemmel Moore shared Buck as a client told the WeHo Times that Buck also provided him with drugs.

In one instance, the source said that Ed Buck asked if he’d ever “slammed,” a slang term for intravenous meth use.

“I told him, no, and that would take more money,” the source added, detailing Buck’s reaction as “excited,” noting that he appeared to “get off on getting you higher and higher.'”

Nixon told the WeHo Times that her son’s issues might have had started over a year ago when he called her in a panic.

“He filed a police report because Buck had held him in his apartment or whatever and had shot him up with a needle and didn’t’ know what it was.”

“He called crying. Three minutes hollering and I’m like ‘What the hell is going on?'”

“He said ‘This man, he shot me up I don’t even know what it is,’ and I’m like, my son is having a breakdown. But he sent me pictures of his arm, which was red.”

In 2015, Buck donated $27000 to Hillary Clinton and another $250 one year later, according to the WeHO Times, noting that Buck has also given thousands of dollars to Democratic officials in the state.
